After reading a review of someone of a similar size like me(40 waist - 50 hips), I bought these and a 2X. They are very adjustable as the laces open up and there’s more than enough room plus it also goes or can go over my fupa and makes me look amazing!!

My hip measurements calls for a 1X but my waist calls for an XL. I was able to squeeze into the XL but next time I’ll buy bikini bottoms based on my hips. The color is just as pictured.
