Cute but not tall girl friendly

Usual Size: 2X
I purchased these pants and the matching sweat shirt. They are super cute but not tall girl friendly. I am 5'9 and they stopped right at my ankle. With this being a wide leg pant it makes it look high water. But I am still going to keep them and get them altered to taper towards my ankle and maybe add elastic in it to give the jogger effect.
